Lay it out at its whole length rather than coiled, so the entire chain is in the photo. 2. ### Select necklace, model and background The type of piece is asked before the job starts and sets the frame. Choose a ready-made model, a model you created or a photo of a model you have permission to use; then studio white or grey, outdoor, lifestyle, a location or your own image. 3. ### Pendant centred, clasp behind The model is framed from the lips to the upper chest with the shoulders bare, so the necklace lies on the skin. Any pendant hangs centred and the clasp stays at the back of the neck; no link or connector is added or moved to the front. ## The necklace photo behind an on-model image. - Lay the whole chain out on a plain, matte surface in one even colour, with a margin on every side of the photo. - Use window light rather than direct sun or flash, and hold a sheet of white card opposite the window to soften dark patches on metal. - Add a separate close-up of the clasp, a setting or an engraved pendant: the main photo carries the shape and the close-up carries the detail. ## Necklace on a model photos, answered. **Where does the necklace sit on the model?** On the skin, around the base of the neck, with any pendant centred in the frame. The frame runs from the lips to the upper chest with the shoulders bare, so the necklace does not lie on fabric. **Can one model wear my whole jewelry collection?** Yes.
