# Resize an image to 4:3 aspect ratio.

Drop your photos and download them in the 4:3 aspect ratio. Each photo keeps all its pixels at their own size; padding is added on the short side until the shape is 4:3, so nothing is cropped, enlarged or reduced. It runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded.

Sizes come from each marketplace's own help pages, summarised in the [guides](https://herofab.app/guides/) (checked 24 September 2026).

## Who asks for 4:3.

Lines from Herofab's platform guides that name the 4:3 aspect ratio, whether as a requirement, a recommendation or one of several accepted shapes. Each row links to the guide and its official source.

| Platform | Rule | What the guide says | Read |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Allegro](https://herofab.app/guides/allegro-product-image-requirements) | File | JPG, JPEG or PNG (WEBP also through the API or a file); any proportions, such as 1:1, 4:3 or 16:9; only the sRGB profile for full colour fidelity | 10 October 2026 |
| [Ricardo](https://herofab.app/guides/ricardo-image-requirements) | Crop | Ricardo crops pictures to the 4:3 format, so horizontal photos look better in the search results | 27 September 2026 |
| [Wix](https://herofab.app/guides/wix-product-image-size) | Aspect ratio | 16:9, 3:2, 4:3, 1:1, 3:4, 2:3 or 9:16; 1:1 is the recommended ratio for mobile | 11 October 2026 |
| [Ecwid](https://herofab.app/guides/ecwid-product-image-size) | Aspect ratio | Ecwid names 1:1, 3:4, 4:3, 2:3 and 3:2 as the most appealing proportions, and asks for one aspect ratio and orientation across a product's gallery | 11 October 2026 |
| [SHOPLINE](https://herofab.app/guides/shopline-product-image-size) | Aspect ratio | Product images can be displayed as square (1:1), vertical (2:3), horizontal (4:3) or in their original ratio; 2:3 is the recommended ratio and a consistent ratio across all product images is advised | 12 October 2026 |
| [Reddit Ads](https://herofab.app/guides/reddit-ad-image-size) | Recommended | Landscape 4:3 at 1,440 × 1,080 pixels is the recommended cross-device resolution for an image ad, so a single image serves multiple devices, placements and view modes | 12 October 2026 |
| [Reddit Ads](https://herofab.app/guides/reddit-ad-image-size) | Mobile | Recommended resolutions are square 1:1 at 1,080 × 1,080, portrait 3:4 at 1,080 × 1,440, portrait 4:5 at 1,080 × 1,350, landscape 4:3 at 1,440 × 1,080 and landscape 16:9 at 1,920 × 1,080 pixels | 12 October 2026 |

| [Reddit Ads](https://herofab.app/guides/reddit-ad-image-size) | Thumbnail | Recommended landscape 4:3 at 400 × 300 pixels; square 1:1 at 300 × 300 and landscape 16:9 at 400 × 225 pixels are acceptable; maximum file size 3 MB; shown only in conversation placement and compact view | 12 October 2026 |
| [Weebly](https://herofab.app/guides/weebly-product-image-size) | Aspect ratio | One ratio setting applies to all item photos; shapes are square (1:1), portrait (2:3 or 3:4) and landscape (3:2 or 4:3), and mixing them leads to odd cropping | 12 October 2026 |
| [Taboola](https://herofab.app/guides/taboola-ad-image-size) | Aspect ratio | 16:9 preferred, with 4:3 and 1:1 also listed; the ad preview shows 16:9, 6:5, 2:1, 1:1 and 1.91:1 crops | 12 October 2026 |

## From a phone photo to 4:3.

Common 12-megapixel phone photo shapes brought to 4:3: the size of the downloaded file and the padding added on each side (↔ left + right, ↕ top + bottom). The photo keeps its own pixels, so the output size follows the photo. The tool above uses the same calculation.

| Phone photo | Output size | Padding |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 4,032 × 3,024 · 4:3 | 4,032 × 3,024 px | — |
| 3,024 × 4,032 · 3:4 | 5,376 × 4,032 px | ↔ 1,176 + 1,176 px |
| 4,032 × 2,268 · 16:9 | 4,032 × 3,024 px | ↕ 378 + 378 px |
| 2,268 × 4,032 · 9:16 | 5,376 × 4,032 px | ↔ 1,554 + 1,554 px |
| 3,024 × 3,024 · 1:1 | 4,032 × 3,024 px | ↔ 504 + 504 px |

## 4:3, answered.

**Which platforms ask for the 4:3 aspect ratio?**

Allegro, Ricardo, Wix, Ecwid, SHOPLINE, Reddit Ads, Weebly, and Taboola. The table on this page gives each rule in full and links to the platform's guide.

**What size is the image after resizing to 4:3?**

It depends on the photo: its pixels stay and padding is added until the shape is 4:3. A 3,024 × 4,032 px phone photo becomes 5,376 × 4,032 px, with 1,176 px of padding on the left and 1,176 px on the right.

**Is the photo scaled or cropped when resizing to 4:3?**

Neither. The photo keeps every pixel at its original size and the padding colour fills the added area, so the whole product stays in frame and a small photo is not blurred by enlarging.
